Upcycling is the process of transforming discarded and unused materials into new objects of higher value, quality or utility.
Unlike traditional recycling, which often involves breaking down materials to create other products, upcycling uses creativity to maintain and improve the original structure of the material, giving it a new life with a different purpose.
Upcycling invites us to give a new approach to things, to change our perception of what is (and is not) waste.
We collect bottles from restaurants near our workshop in the Empordà, clean them and begin to transform them.
Some we deform them so much that the result no longer seems to come from a bottle; other designs are simpler, only requiring minimal intervention, but maximum creativity, and we love that: with little, we can do a lot.
This is how we work.
Our philosophy: To create sustainable products that minimize the environmental impact during the whole cycle, from the origin, the design itself, to the production, use and disposal.
One of the most distinguishing characteristics of our products is the shading effectA finish with a pleasant silky touch.
A texture reminiscent of glass found on the beach, a product of sand and wave erosion. This matte effect on glass is achieved with the technique commonly called “sandblasting”.
Finally, all the pieces go through a high temperature thermal process, which gives us, in addition to a brighter appearance, a product without tensions in its vitreous composition, therefore, a more durable product.
